What a good Product Hunt video does

People scroll past dozens of launches a day. A short film in the first gallery slot has a few seconds to make them stop, so the order matters:

1. Hook in the first two seconds. The pain or the price, in big type, before your logo.
2. Show the real product. Your actual screens, close up, not a stock laptop.
3. One idea per scene. Three features shown well beat ten listed.
4. End on the offer. Your URL and what's free, held long enough to read.

How to add it to your launch

1. Export a 16:9 MP4 from Kinetic.
2. Upload it to YouTube (unlisted is fine) or Loom.
3. In your Product Hunt launch, paste the link into the video field under Images and media. It appears as a play tile in your gallery.
4. Export a 9:16 cut too, and post it on X, LinkedIn and Reels on launch day with your Product Hunt link.

Why not an agency or After Effects?

An agency quote for a 30-second launch film is often in the thousands and takes weeks of back and forth. After Effects can make anything, but a launch film from scratch is days of keyframing if you are not a motion designer.
